We visited Yamuranai Association for Persons with Disabilities and handed over 40 blankets which were donated by the Hindoo Society.
Yamuranai is the only organization that caters to the disabled in Epworth, which is one of the poorest suburbs in Harare and has 7 wards. There are no paid staff members at this organisation, everyone who works here is on a voluntary basis.
Disability is often viewed as a curse and those with disabilities are viewed as outcasts in the area. We are thankful that the volunteers at Yamuranai go a long way to making everyone there feel included and cared for.
As a club, we are making an effort to ensure we include everyone in our programs including persons with disabilities.
