Membership
Our vibrant club comprises 13 dedicated members. We convene on a friday fortnightly at The Nomads, 15 Brompton Road, Newlands, and also hold virtual meetings every other Wednesday.
Community Impact: Empowering Education at Glen Roy Primary School
Committed to supporting education, the Rotary Satellite Club of Msasa has partnered with Glen Roy Primary School in Melfort, located approximately 70km from Harare. Established following the Kunzvi Dam project resettlement, the school faces significant resource constraints. Currently, its one two-classroom block accommodates students from Early Childhood Development (ECD) A through Grade 7. Staff reside in two temporary two-room structures, and sanitation is provided by four improved Blair toilets, funded by club member donations.
Our Initiatives:
- Resource Provision: Through the generous contributions of our members and a donation from St Johns’ Prep, we have provided essential learning materials, including books for students from ECD A to Grade 7 and teacher resources.
- Infrastructure Development: Recognizing the critical need for a dedicated learning space, our club is actively planning to build a library for Glen Roy Primary School. We have already secured a valuable collection of library books through donations from AUSIE Books, an Australian organization.
- We are appealing for local donations to achieve the following:
- Borehole drilling and installation
- Solar system installation
- Two fabricated containers to serve as library and ICT workshop
- Three classroom blocks
- Teachers accommodation and latrines
We are dedicated to making a tangible difference in the lives of the Glen Roy Primary School students and the wider community through sustained support and impactful projects.
