The Bikers Run Fundraising

TheBikersRun was an entertaining sponsored ride featuring six motorcyclists who traveled 560 km to raise funds for the purchase of a 16-seater Club minibus. The route covered Harare, Chegutu, Kadoma, Kwekwe, Gweru, Chivhu, and back to Harare. Club members were assigned biker teams and encouraged to sponsor their bikers well before the event, fostering excitement and engagement.

On the morning of 23 November 2024, bikers gathered at the Rotary Centre, where they were warmly seen off by Rotarians. The bikers were accompanied by a chase vehicle manned by two support members to ensure safety and provide assistance if needed. The ride proceeded smoothly, with the bikers completing the journey and returning triumphantly by the end of the day. Their return was marked by a lively cocktail event held in Newlands, providing an opportunity for fellowship and celebration. Rotarian Chester and Rotarian Thembani enriched the atmosphere with their soulful saxophone and violin performances. The fundraising event was a resounding success, raising USD 5,600. Special recognition went to IPDG Gabriel, who alone raised an impressive USD 2,500, earning him the top fundraiser prize—a water tank.

Purpose of the Minibus
