The project, which involves constructing classrooms and other infrastructure at Manyoshwa Primary School in Beatrice, was initiated by Catalyst Foundation, an NGO operating in Zimbabwe; in conjunction with the Rotary Club of Formby, UK. The Rotary Club of Msasa (RC Msasa) will be the partnering club in Zimbabwe, to assist with monitoring, disbursing of the funds, and reporting.

The project is worth US$ 67,703; the funds have already been secured through Formby; and involve the construction of classroom blocks and toilets. The local community, which comprises farm workers and resettled small-scale farmers, are the beneficiaries; and these will participate through the provision of labour, materials, and other resources.

The Manyoshwa Primary School Project site visit took place on 20 September 2024. This was the first combined project visit by RC Msasa and Catalyst Foundation. Both teams made a further pre-implementation assessment; since most of the groundwork had already been done.

It was a successful project visit attended by a good number of Rotarians. We take pride as Rotarians in making an impact on the less privileged communities around the country. We now await the implementation stage.
